This work is an experiment of applying 3-dimensional industrial sign fabrication technique to fine art sculptural form.
Alucobond was originally designed to clad buildings and is also widely used to fabricate signs. This material consists of two layers of Aluminium with a plastic core. The head is fabricated from gold coloured alucobond that is engraved back to the silver aluminium colour. The beak is mirror polished aluminium. The eyes are rose coloured glass.
